Career
development in the Troy School District is an on-going process that begins in
elementary school and continues throughout high school and beyond. It is
a lifelong process with definite steps that involve interaction between the
student's physical, mental, social and emotional components.
The Troy School
District assists students in developing the employability skills necessary in
today's workplace. Students are able to complete a basic resume, practice interviewing
skills, learn workplace skills and participate in job shadowing experiences by
visiting the Career Resource Centers.
A vital component of their career
development is the formation of an EDP (Educational Development Plan) This
document is initiated in 8th grade and updated annually throughout high
school.
Students can also explore colleges,
search for scholarships and financial aid and determine which college, university
or technical school offers the program they desire.
