Dear Red Hawk Students, Families, and Community,

Welcome to the new academic year at Athens High School! My name is Vernon Burden, and I am honored to serve as the principal of this exceptional school and district. As I enter another year of my tenure at Athens, I look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and success. I am very enthusiastic about reaching new heights and successes together over the next academic year as soaring Red Hawks.

Welcome back to our returning Red Hawks and families for the graduating classes of 2025, 2026, and 2027! I am inspired by your commitment to excellence and your dedication to your education. Together, let's make this year a remarkable chapter in your educational journey.

To the incoming Red Hawks class of 2028 and families, I extend a warm welcome to you all. Your arrival marks the beginning of our journey at Athens High School together. As you step through our school's doors, you are embarking on a transformative experience that will shape your future. For the next four years, I look forward to navigating through your experiences and hope to assist you in fulfilling your highest potential.
