Donations from fundraising efforts and parent contributions are essential for the PTO to support our Athens Staff and Students. Last year, the Athens PTO was fortunate enough to support our staff with almost $7,300 to enhance their classrooms and ensure the best learning environment for the students. We were also able to support our students with nearly $8,600 to enable them to be effectual leaders in their community/school environment.  Learn how you can contribute by clicking the Ways to Contribute tab above.

WHO WE ARE

The Athens Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is comprised of parents, teachers and administrators who work together to raise funds, provide volunteers, and organize events.

WHAT WE DO

We provide volunteers and financial support for all kinds of events, including student clubs and activities, All Night Party, Prom, and much more.  Students whose families are members may apply for senior and underclassmen scholarships, and we provide teacher members with enrichment scholarships.  The PTO is the ONLY organization that provides for ALL Athens students.

HOW TO JOIN

If you have a student at Athens, you may fill out the Athens PTO Donation/Volunteer Form and submit the form along with a $20.00 per student suggested payment to the Athens PTO mailbox (or PTO table during registration).  Sponsorship is open until October 31st, or 60 days after your student begins attending Athens.

Scholarships

The Athens PTO has established the Scholarship Program for underclass students (Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors) who wish to participate in an activity (lessons, camp, etc...) to improve their skills or abilities in an area that will also benefit Athens;  Senior students, who plan to continue their education, may submit a scholarship application.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS must be students in Good Standing with Athens High School, have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher, as of the end of the last semester.  Student's parent/guardian must be a current active member of the Athens PTO.

Completed applications are to be turned into the counseling office by the last school day in March for GPA verification.  Scholarship award winners are announced at the Honors/Convocation in May. Please note that in order to give parents a full year of opportunities to earn points, we use more of a calendar year, not a school year.
